Card Security

To prevent your card from being misused, we have these security features in place. While the choice of either signature or vehicle registration number is compulsory, a pin number is optional.

Vehicle Registration.

If your card is vehicle specific, a description of your car and registration number will be displayed on the card. The console operator can verify this when your card is used.

Signature Validation.

Just like a credit card, your signature may appear on the back of your card, which can be verified when you sign the receipt.

Pin Number.

This option is an extra security feature and is only applicable outside the Dermody Petroleum network. Your pin number will be mailed out separately to your BP Distributor Card and the pin number can be changed at any BP Eftpos terminal. NB. Please refer to the Dermody Petroleum local services guide for sites where your pin number will not be operational.

Odometer.

Odometer readings can be collected so that vehicle running costs can be calculated for the fleet management. If you want this option tracked, it is only available outside the Dermody Petroleum network and attracts a higher transaction fee.
