About BPAY

BPAY is a bill payment service that is available across Australia day and night, 7 days a week.  You can access BPAY via phone or the Internet to pay your bills at a time that suits you.  Payments made before 6pm (AEST) on a bank business day will be processed that days.

The Benefits of Using BPAY

Convenience  - During one phone call or Internet banking session you can pay many bills – 7 days a week, day or night – without queuing.
Flexibility  With BPAY, you may draw against your cheque, savings or credit card* accounts, which means you may now collect reward points when using your credit card to make payments to your BP Distributor.

Control - You decide from which account to make your payments, so you can manage your money better, and receipt numbers are available for every transaction.

Privacy - When you pay your bills via BPAY, you deal with your banking institution and not a third party; only yourselves and your financial institution know your banking details.

Save Time - Paying bills has traditionally been a slow and dull process.  With BPAY, you may make some real time savings, effectively reducing the time cost to your business associated with paying your bills, and giving you more time for other things.

Transactions limits - Maximum payment amounts apply to BPAY transactions, with differing upper limits applying to each financial institution and across payment modes.  Please call your bank to establish their limits, as they apply to you.

Transactions costs - There are no direct charges for using BPAY.  However, a BPAY payment is a transaction, so it may attract a fee.  Please contact your financial institution to ascertain whether fees will apply. 

* Check to establish whether the credit payment option applies.

You should note that if you use your credit card to pay via BPAY and the biller does not accept credit payments, the transaction would be treated as a cash advance.  In such cases, interest accrues from the transaction date until you pay off your credit card bill.

How do I use BPAY?

1. Have your bill handy when you call your phone banking service or log onto your Internet banking service.  You must enter the Biller Code and Reference, as it appears on your bill.
2. Follow the prompts and, when asked which payment method you wish to use, select BPAY.
3. At the end of the transaction, wait for the receipt number.
